In Ayurveda spinach has more of Vata’s qualities, so it’s best consumed in Pitta and Kapha seasons, that is from March to October. Spinach has detoxifying properties and is also known to nourish the body. It is ideal for those looking for weight loss in a healthy way.

Of course, green leafy vegetables do help in increasing Hb in blood. In addition include citrus fruits, peas, dried beans – which are sources of folic acid. Include iron rich foods like lentils, cereals, whole egg, meat etc in diet. Include herbal spices like mint, basil etc in diet. Always keep an eye on the Hb count, if experiencing any dizziness and lethargy, consult your doctor.
