      Hi Patty,
It’s good to use Turmeric powder in a Turmeric Milk recipe. Just be sure it’s not expired or too old. Fresher is better. 🙂

Where is the black pepper where is the oil you need to make turmeric into a paste if you are truly a Ayurvedic you should know all of this

    • Hello D,

Thank you for asking about turmeric paste. I am more than pleased to share the recipe for this wonderful Ayurvedic treat below:

Try this paste as a delicious topping on your toast. Combine 2 tablespoons of ground turmeric, 1/4 cup of raw honey, pinch of black pepper, 1 teaspoon of raw unfiltered apple cider vinegar, 1/2 teaspoon of unrefined coconut oil in a bowl. Stir until smooth and store in the refrigerator for up to one week. Makes about 8-10 servings.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

      Namaste,
      Jitka

I was given to understand that adding ghee or oil to milk will make you put on weigh? Please clarify if this is correct. Thank you.

    • Hello Aparna,
This is a great question. And it really depends on many factors. May I suggest for you to see an Ayurvedic practitioner who would work with you in person and address this further?
      Namaste,
      Jitka

    • Hi Aparna, It depends upoon the condition of your ‘digestive fire which ocntrols your metabolism and also your inherent dosha type or Prakriti as it is called. In case of weak digestive fire and Kapha dominant Prakriti, adding ghee or oil to the milk makes it heavy to digest and that can make one h=gain weight. But it will be beneficial ofr Vata dominant to a great extent as well as to a Pitta dominant person.

Does Turmeric affect your kidney’s at all. I know a lady that only has one kidney. She has broken several bones in her body and has metal all up and down her spine. She cries because she is in so much pain. Do you think Turmeric would help her at all and would it affect that kidney. That is what her doctor told her.

Turmeric according to Ayurveda is anti inflammatory and is good for skin and blood disorders. A lot of research has been done on its benefits as well as possible side effects. We advise your friend to go by her doctor’s advice on this matter.
