Hi, it looks like my skin is Pita Vata, how should I care about my skin?
Pitta Vata skin types need to watch for Pitta and Vata symptoms. Pitta is prone to redness and so needs to focus on a diet and lifestyle that is not Pitta provoking. Rose water is wonderful for Pitta type skin. Vata skin needs hydration inside and out. Keep a regular routine of meals and a regular sleep schedule. Moisturize the skin. Avoid constipation.

Hi, I have a general question. Do parents’ dominant Dosha affect the child’s? My mother is Pitta and father is Kapha. I am Kapha mainly. Ty
Yes, the prakrti of the parents will have an effect on the child. Other factors like the mother’s diet and the vikrti of the parents at the time of conception will also have an effect. This is the reason for the purification procedures recommended before conception.
Hope that helps.

The answers to my questionnaire say I am vata-pitta. I’m not sure what oil to use on my body or face as my skin seems to be a combo as well. My skin is extremely dry in the winter, I’m very sensitive to cold,I have small pores, but also very sensitive year round- prone to eczema, hives and my upper body and face are always blotchy after bathing. I tried sesame oil on my body and it seemed to work fine but I cannot stand the smell so want to try something else.
Hi Lisa,
If sesame worked well for you, can you add a drop of essential oil to the bottle to adjust the scent?

So I seem to have Pitta/Kapha skin, what do I use on it?

Hi Im 56 years old, my dosha is Kapha-vata with my skin type being vata. What do you suggest for the best skin care. Im hating how Im ageing and feel sooooo old. I currently use argan oil on my skin twice a day.
Hi Kris, You can have a look at iYura brand of Kesaradi oil and Manjish glow elixir in the product section. You may find then interesting.
Hi,
I have plantar corn on the base of foot. I got it removed surgically last yr and it has reoccured again . I wanted to ask , what changes in diet i can make, and whats the preferred diet plan for me
Ashish, this problem is caused by a virus that loves warm and damp. Keep your feet clean and dry, change socks daily if you wear them. Spray your feet with 50/50 white vinegar and water daily to create an inhospitable environment and follow a diet according to your dosha type with as few sweets as possible and plenty of greens.
According to your questionaire, I am vada pitta type. Looking at the likely skin symptoms, I have to say that, apart from slightly thin skin and delicate (well nourished, cared for and a little wrinkling around the eyes) none of them apply in my case. Certainly no kapha symptoms either! I am 73 years old and a natural redhead. Perhaps just lucky but would appreciate any comments. Thank you.
Hi Phyllida, A smooth, radiant, delicate, thin skin are the features that are dominant in you. These are inturn based on the properties of the constituent dosha that are dominant. That is why there are variants with in a body type. You are the lucky one while others are not. Lot of permutations and combinations are possible. The features mentioned in the results are generalized features and are not individual specific having a particular dosha type (prakriti as it is called).
Red hair so often goes with pitta skin – fair and glowing but sun sensitive. The vata part is more a function of age. Everyone’s skin tends to gradually get drier as we become more mature.
Sun protection and nourishment are key to vata/pitta skin. And remember to love your skin head to toe not just your face.
According to the questionaire I’m vata-pitta. However my skin type fits the kapha description. So now I’m confused about my dosha altogether.
Hi Breanna, Please tell which features do you relate to your skin?
The explicitation of these categories are very caucasian centered. Hard to determine your type if you have dark skin… 😕
Thanks for your comment Geraldine. We’ll look into how we can improve the article.
What is the best skin care and diet routine for Pitta skin? Thanks so much 🙏🏻💕
Follow a diet that is pitta balancing and be sure to include plenty of green vegetables and drink aloe vera juice if you can find it. Pitta skin needs to be soothed, protected and not over worked. Keep your regiment simple and focus on gently cleansing and full sum .
Hi. I am 55 years old and I have a Kapha-Pitta dosha. My skin leans more to the Pitta side being more dry with tendencies toward red, and ruddy complextion. What would be my best skin care regiment?
Thanks, Sandy
Hi! I am 43 yrs old. Vata dosha predominant. My skin type
– thin, dehydrated (vata)
– blackhead, acne & cystic prone (lower cheeks & jawline), bumps under the skin (kapha)
– whitehead, oily T zone, warm to touch (pitta)
My diet is q healthy – Abstain from spicy, deep fried, oily & processed food. Using soothing & gentle skincare. So my question is follow vata Pitta kapha diet or vata diet? Thanks!!:)
After considering these symptoms, in our opinion, a Vata Pitta Kapha pacifying diet (tridosha shamaka ahara) will be the most appropriate diet.
Hi! I am 43 yrs old, vata dosha predominant but my skin is pitta type – thin, dehydrated & oily, prone 2 acne & cystic acne, have whitehead & blackhead. Pls advice!
what diet do you suggest if i’m a Kapha-Vata body tipe, really keen on experience cystic acne?
Hi Micol,
If you’re a Kapha-Vata body type, you need to follow the diet for both Kapha dosha and Vata dosha. Following a diet for your constitution will certainly help any skin condition you may have. Please see an Ayurvedic practitioner for assistance with supplements best suited for you. Hope that helps!

How do I care and what do I need for Kapha skin
Hi Pam,
Good question! Following a Kapha Diet is a great thing to do. What goes inside our bodies will definitely reflect on the outside. Here’s an article about the Kapha Diet: https://goo.gl/gLbP1V
